Street photography started for us as an occasional hobby, became a full-hearted passion and has now graduated to become integral to everything we do, not least our wedding photography! Going on street trips allows us not only to experience other cultures but importantly to help us to explore ideas, develop our individual styles and capture life just the way it unfolds in front of us without any expectation or demands on what we will take. It’s an exciting experience working moment to moment simply wandering the streets with no idea what we will find around the next corner and it’s helped to open our eyes to a more dynamic style of shooting which has gradually filtered its way through to our wedding photography.
Whilst we try and arrange solo street trips every year (so far this year we have been to Mallorca and Cuba), we were humbled to recently be asked to be a part of The 8Street, a collective of awesome photographers based largely in the UK who, like us, are hugely passionate about street photography and travel together around the world to see what they can find. Our first trip was to Barcelona and we had a fantastic time trying to capture that incredible Catalan spirit and sharing our love for photography with this very special group of people.
