It might outwardly have seemed like things at York Place has been a bit quiet of late but we can assure you that behind the scenes nothing could be further from the truth! We have so many exciting developments going on at the moment it is difficult to keep track of everything! First there’s our new website which is tantalisingly close to completion, then there are the brand new talks we’ve been writing for our speaking events in March which include Elevate in London, Thrive from The Photography Farm in Brighton and Glasgow and we will also be speaking at The Photography Show on behalf of Fujifilm! We’ve also recently attended the opening of the House of Photography – Fujifilm’s amazing new store in Covent Garden and the X-Summit where we got to get up close and personal with the brand new stunning X100V which we were so impressed with we ordered one immediately! Alongside all that we are currently working alongside Fountain Albums, (who we are ambassadors for) on a new range of albums and a special ‘York Place Photo Book’ layout which we are extremely excited about! The quality of the albums is absolutely exquisite and we can’t wait to share them with our couples!
Amongst all of this excitement (and some more news that will be revealed soon!) this week Liam found out that he was the United Kingdom’s Top Fearless Wedding Photographer. Fearless has an international reputation for celebrating extraordinary wedding images that break the norm. A highly curated competition, only around 1-3% of entries come away with Fearless Awards (about 150 photos out of typically around 10,000 entries) so we were delighted that as a team we won 7 and with Liam winning 4 of those that made him the Best UK Wedding Photographer 2019.
Liam was also recently crowned Top UK Documentary Wedding Photographer based on accumulated awards for the 2nd year running by This Is Reportage!
Below are Liam and Dom’s winning Fearless photographs; all completely non-directed real moments.
